A Very Special Request to Help Us Do Teshuvah

                                                                                      בס"ד
I have received a special request from one of our dear readers. This family had a beautiful daughter that Hashem took from them. She obviously reached a very high spiritual level and a level of Tikun that we would all love to come close to. The losing of such a tremendous person in the family is extremely sad, but as I have said many times is it not necessarily bad. This is not the real world and when we see a very righteous person reach as high as can be achieved and taken to the real world, it is actually a very happy occasion for the one who reached such closeness to Hashem. That doesn’t make it any easier for those left behind, since the pain of missing such a wonderful person is great.

I ask all my readers to join me in commemorating the 2nd Yahrzeit (the annual anniversary of the passing of a Jew) of this Tzaddekes, Kayla Rus bas Bunim Tuvia, A"H. Here is the touching request made by her mother Rachel:

Tuesday night/Wednesday is 22 Elul, which marks the 2nd Yahrzeit of my beautiful daughter. Most of you know that she was a Tzaddekes. She held onto her falling-apart siddur until her last day in this world. She davened constantly for others, never forgot to say "thank you" and "have a nice day" to everyone from her family to the door guard at the blood lab. She was funny, goofy, a talented dancer, fiercely loyal to Hashem and His Torah, and chutzpahdik enough to tell you if you weren't doing your best to serve Him. There is a lot less holiness in our family now. As hard as I have tried, I cannot do enough to pick up the slack. We need Moshiach. I need my beautiful girl back. What are you going to do today to help us out? Please learn some Torah, say some Tehillim, eat and make a bracha, do a mitzvah, take on something for Teshuvah, be more careful with dressing modestly, and take on Shabbos early, l'iluy nishmas Kayla Rus bas Bunim Tuvia, A"H, on Tuesday night/Wednesday Elul 22 and every day until Moshiach comes!

I rarely post on this blog with tears in my eyes, but this request is so important for as many of my readers to commemorate this occasion as the mother requested. It is so good for us as individuals since Hashem wants us to do for those who have passed on as they cannot do for themselves. It is interesting to know that when we study Torah or read Tehillim, etc for those who have left us, they actually make an Aliyah in Heaven (raised to a higher spiritual level).  They cannot do that for themselves, but the loved ones on Earth can do amazing things to help loved ones departed.

This is a big mitzvah of which all of us should take advantage, especially in the month of Elul. It is another big step for the personal Teshuvah for each of us.

  1. Thank you so much for posting on my daughter's behalf. I would really like to personally ask everyone to daven extra hard for Moshiach and to take on some mitzvah, small or large, in my daughter's zchus.

    1. That is a beautiful request for a beautiful Neshamah. I was privileged to say Kaddish for Kayla Rus at the morning prayer service. One should also say the Shema in her merit; it is good for her, and also very good for the person saying it.
